The paintings "The Spoils of War Cheltenham Gold Cup Night" and "Dead Cert" have been hugely popular as limited editions. David now takes the theme to Royal Ascot. The model is Eliza who was a former model at the Royal Academy and also Agent Provocateur; and though is now a Doctor of Palaeoclimatology
Here Eliza modelled as a lady getting ready for another day at Ascot.
Note that 'Tales' is not spelt as 'Tails'; despite the presence of the top hat. This is because the model's smile suggests a Tale to be told (or not) about the previous 24 hours; whether a romantic or steamy one or one of success over the bookies!
The colours and textures are masterfully handled with detail evident in the pages of The Racing Post and racecard on the rich green Knole sofa which contrasts with the red hair and lipstick and the models black and white outfit. The morning sun begins to penetrate the room and illuminate her first glass of champagne as she dons her armour for another day at the Course....
