Original oil by D M Dent and the Count of Argenton featuring a duel between three jumps horses at the last.
One of the 'Adrenaline' series that was inspired by the words of Cristophe Soumillon and Thierry Thulliez when the artists asked their visual experience of the business end of a race:
"Tout...c'est rouge..."
(All is red)
"oui...et c'est le meme pour le cheval"
(yes...and it's the same for the horse)
In French the word for Thoroughbred is "Pur- Sang" ; literally, Pure Blood. The aim of this series of paintings is to stir the blood with adrenaline so the viewer doesn't just see but 'feels' what it is to be a horse and jockey.
