The Hardest Fought: Enable and Crystal Ocean

Enable and Crystal Ocean locked in combat in the Qipco Kind George at Ascot led jockey Frankie Dettori to claim afterwards it was 'the hardest race he had ever fought', hence the title. Crystal Ocean is one of the best flat horses around, a great in himself, but Enable, is legend. Winner of two Arcs, the Oaks, Breeder Cup classic, and two King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at time of writing with other targets in her trainer John Gosden's sights. Owner Prince Khaled Abdullah's iconic silks have been carried by greats such as Dancing Brave and Frankel but Enable could turn out to be the greatest.
This is all about speed and battle at the end of the race as they go to the line, with contemporary directional brushstrokes and runs then ink worked in repeated employed as a technique with traditional detail. A large image approx 90x60cms

This started out as a large sketch for an oil painting but the artist became so absorbed in it, it ended up as a finished piece in itself. Ink and acrylic used as watercolour and oil, with ink, puts in somewhere between the two mediums. A bold, striking piece of Art with a great degree of dynamism and movement
