Set in the late 1920s.
Artist David Dent:
Inspiration for this was seeing a 1921 Napier BlueBird at Brooklands Museum racing re-enactment event. I know Sir Malcolm Campbell tested this at Pendine sands and other beaches so thought I'd make it the basis of a vintage fashion painting. But put Campbell himself in the car. Zorica was main model in late 20s early 30s attire. I also wanted to put in a couple dancing tango which was all the rage late 20s, on the beach, and some characters associated with the vehicle and also the horses working on the beach. So they are wearing the characteristic hoods of the time and the riders the oversize Peaky Blinders caps . Fast cars, fast horses, and fast women .... on Pendine sands.
Edition printed on canvas with original work in an edition of just 200.
