Makes a magnificent pair on canvas with "White Kladrubers" Artist David Dent describes:
"These are special horses. From the world's oldest operating stud Kladruby in the Czech Republic are the white ones. They are the base bloodstock of Lipizzaners. They are special horses in Czech folklore and believed to be reincarnation of human souls. I spent some time at the stud photographing and painting them with the former director Norbert Zalis back in the 1990s.
These were quite challenging as I wanted to capture both the strength and stature of the horses...which were originally battle horses that practised the infantry killing moves that became the airs above the ground ( though nowadays are used as elegant carriage horses); and also their spiritual ethereal quality. The black Kladrubers are kept at nearby Slati?any stud. I think I've done them justice as far as Art can do nature justice".
